Ondo Polls: DIG says claims untrue, First Lady is well

Reports circulating social media state that violence has erupted in Akeredolu’s polling unit and his wife, Betty, was attacked and injured.
However, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Ondo State governorship election, Mr Leye Oyebade, has debunked that rumour.
During an interview with Punch newspapers, the DIG said, “We have checked and found out that the report is not true. That Owo incident is not true, the area is calm. There is nothing like that.”
Corroborating the story, the lawmaker representing Owo Constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, also says that the claims are untrue and there was no attack on the governor’s wife.
“There is no crisis here. I am sure the First Lady will not do anything like that.”
He then commended INEC and all the security agencies.
