
President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the families of the 20 school children burnt to death in Niamey, Niger.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 13.
According to reports, the children were trapped in straw-hut classrooms when the fire started.
Mourning the dead pupils, Buhari in a statement issued by his spokesman Garba Shehu, described the incident as a tragic loss.

“On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, we commiserate with our brotherly neighbours on this tragic loss.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, families and communities affected by this unfortunate incident, wishing quick recovery to those who were injured,” the statement read in part.
