Tension has heightened in the Abba community in Njikoka local government area of Anambra state as residents of the area accuse the police of abducting their President General, Mr. Alex Ekwuagana.
The people alleged that Ekwuagana was abducted on the alleged order of a billionaire oil magnate, from a neighboring Ukpo community, who they alleged worked in collaboration with the state commissioner of police, CP Echeng Eworo to order the abduction of the community leader.
It was gathered that the Abba community and Ukpo community have been at loggerhead, over a disputed parcel of land for many years running.
Mr Tiger Onyike, an indigene of the Abba community had raised the alarm over the abduction of Ekwuagana
He said he was abducted by Mr Patrick Agbazue, the commander of Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu on the order of the commissioner of police Anambra state.
He said: “This is still part of the intimidation orchestrated a long time ago. The commander of Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu, Mr. Patrick Emeka Agbazue, and current commissioner of police Anambra state, Mr. Echeng Eworo Echeng are all contractors hired to intimidate the people of Abba with abductions and detentions in order for Abba to abandon their ancestral land and run away.

“They claimed that Mr. Alex Ekwuagana, the President General of Abba Town Union jumped bail, but all were lies. The President General is a director in the Auditor General’s office in Anambra State, who could easily be invited to any police station.”
Onyike said it was not true that the police were trying to enforce a Supreme Court justice.
“If they think the police are enforcing a judgment, let them show us the copy of the judgment they’re enforcing. Police know the truth but rather chose to work for money,” he said.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, when contacted promised to get back with a statement on the matter.
