Over three hundred 300 traditional rulers in Yorubaland are said to be backing the 2023 presidential ambition of the former Lagos State governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmmed Tinubu
According to Senator Dayo Adeyeye, who is the National Chairman of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju for 2023, a group supporting the former governor, said during the group’s inauguration in Gbongan, Osun State, on Tuesday that Tinubu will emerge as the next Nigeria’s president in 2023.
He said the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, and the Alake of Egba, Oba Adedotun Aremu, are some of the royal fathers who have previously endorsed Tinubu for the presidential bid.
He said “You are representatives of SWAGA and you must continue to advocate Tinubu for the presidential project. By the grace of God, Tinubu will emerge the next Nigeria’s president in 2023.
“All the traditional rulers in Yorubaland are supporting Tinubu, over 300 of them are backing him. From Ooni of Ife to Alaafin of Oyo, Alake and others. He is the best candidate that will come out of Yorubaland,” he said.
Ayo Omidiran, the Osun State SWAGA coordinator, said the organisation was mobilising support for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola ahead of the 2022 governorship election, in addition to canvassing support for Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.
