All Progressives congress in Plateau state on Tuesday kicked start the distribution of materials for the purpose of registration and revalidation of it’s members to wards and local governments of the state .
Addressing newsmen at the party Secretariat in Jos ,the APC Plateau state Chairman Hon Letep Dabang said the exercise will commence across the 17 Local government areas on Tuesday and it will last for about two weeks.
In his words “After one week sensitization and meeting with stakeholders of our great party,we are here to distribute the materials to all the LGAs, we have all the 17 LGA party chairmen here present ,our members of the Plateau state house of Assembly some Commissioners are here .
On the need for the exercise,Mr letep Dabang further emphasized that This exercise is to revalidate our existing members and register new ones as many have died and some have left, we want updated records of membership and in 7 years a lot of persons have attained the age of 18 years this is an opportunity to open the space for more members to join our great party”.
A sensitization committee has been set up by the party to educate the grassroots after various levels of stakeholders meeting has been conducted .
Mr Dabang maintained that in the spirit of fairness the party has engaged elected officials,party Chairmen and elected members to carry out the exercise so the party can hold them responsible for any subversion of the exercise at the various polling units.
Our correspondent reports that the Secretary monitoring Committee Mr Eric Akwibani who represented the chairman and members of the committee from the National Secretariat of the party were fully on ground to ensure guidelines of party are followed assiduously as provided by the Party.
Akwibani said “on behalf of the chairman of the committee,my role is to ensure that the registration exercise is strictly in tandem with the guidelines given by the National Secretariat. “we are to ensure equitable distribution of the Materials to all the polling units in the state”.
