Boko Haram attacks Borno State’s govt’s convoy, kills 30

The convoy of Borno state government officials was attacked by Boko Haram on Friday.

This took place shortly after 2 pm when government officials were travelling along Monguno, Baga road.

They were ambushed shortly after leaving Monguno by suspected Boko Haram fighters at Kekano village.

The government’s plan is to return internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Maiduguri to Baga and the officials were headed to Baga where the governor was to join them.

This attack has resulted in the killing of 12 policemen, 13 civilians and 5 soldiers. The terrorists also carted away one police, one gun truck belonging to the military and six government vehicles.
