The Nigerian Army on Tuesday afternoon said that electrical fault was responsible for the fire outbreak at Army Headquarters.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima in a statement disclosed that electrical fault sparked a minor fire incident at the Army Headquarters Complex, Abuja, Tuesday morning.
He noted that the incident which happened at about 10.15am was as a result of minor electrical fault in one of the offices.

“The Army Headquarters complex is currently undergoing some renovation involving electrical rework.
“The Nigerian Army Fire Service Department has since put out the fire. No casualty was recorded during the incident and normalcy has since returned to the complex,” the statement concluded.
Earlier, some online medium reported that the Army Headquarters was on fire.
The report added that though no official statement was released at the time of filing the report, sources in the Headquarters said the inferno affected the offices of the Chief of Army Staff.
