CDS vows to bring Abductors of Kuriga school children to book

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, has vowed that abductors of Kuriga school children must not go unpunished.

He also noted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), is doing everything humanly possible to bring the children back safely.

Acting Director, of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, said, the CDS made this vow, when he paid a sympathy visit to the Kaduna State Government, to commiserate with her over the recent kidnapping of over 200 students of Kuriga Community of the state.

He averred that some individuals who are not happy with the state would like to cause rancour, stressing that investment is always unyoked with a toxic and violent environment.

Noting that the AFN is working tirelessly to secure the country, states and the entire citizens, the statement likened the kidnapped children to leaders of tomorrow who must be rescued.

The Chief of Defence Staff, assured Kaduna State Governor of the AFN resolve to secure the country.

“General Musa, while, addressing the Kuriga community leaders described the incident as unfortunate. The Armed Forces of Nigeria ( AFN) is doing everything humanly possible to bring the children back safely and to bring the perpetrators to book. President Tinubu has also given directives to the AFN to ensure the children are back safely and healthy. Please, aid the military to track the kidnappers, especially with your deep knowledge of the terrain fully. The community leaders who took turns to eulogise the CDS for his wonderful work called for more proactive action to curb the menace of kidnappings and other criminalities in the country”.

The State Governor, Sen. Uba Sani, said a lot is being achieved through the cordial working relationship with the AFN and other security agencies.

Governor Sani also thanked the community for their overall support since the unfortunate incident occurred.

He added that the state is working with volunteers to ensure support for the victim’s parents to ease their present trauma.

He assured that Kaduna State will continue to work with the AFN and sister agencies to get these children back safely.
