Concerned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Anambra State chapter under the umbrella of APC Patriots on Wednesday called on all the aggrieved aspirants, leaders, and stakeholders of the party to sheath their swords and close ranks towards ensuring that the party’s elected candidate Senator Andy Uba wins the forthcoming November 6 governorahip election in the state.
The group stated that already the Patriots have commenced a series of strategic engagements aimed at rallying all the aspirants for the arduous task of winning the poll.
A spokesperson for the body Hon. Victor Afam Ogene, flanked by Mr. Chizor Obidigwe and Barr. C. J. Chiwuba, stated this during a press briefing held in Awka the state capital.
Ogene said that rather than resort to recriminations, we dare say, this is the time to close ranks, bound together, and jointly work as a team in the foreseeable March to Agu Awka Government House.
It would be recalled that 13 governorahip aspirants of the APC, a National leader of the party, and Minister of Labour Dr. Chris Ngige have rejected the outcome of the APC conducted across the 326 wards and 21 local government areas of the state over alleged hijack and other malpractices.
Also, some of the aggrieved leaders and stakeholders have called for the conduct of fresh party primaries across the state.
In addition, some of the aggrieved aspirants are set to approach the courts over the contentious issues bordering on the primary election of the party.
Ogene commended the APC family in Anambra state for the peaceful conduct of the Party’s gubernatorial primaries, particularly, to all the aspirants of the party who over the last one year labored to sell the ideals of the APC to Ndi Anambra.

He noted that the “sheer quality of our aspirants and their individual and collective accomplishments have put the APC on the great highway to taking over the reins of governance in our dear state.
According to them, “The primaries have been conducted and a winner announced by the chairman of the committee, Prince Dapo Abiodun who is also the Governor of Osun state. We, therefore, urge all our party members to accept the outcome, congratulate the winner, and work assiduously for us to win the main election.”
Members of the APC Patriots pointed out that “In every contest, however, there are bound to be winners and losers but in the instant case, we all, as loyal party members, are victors. This is because the outcome had only produced our party’s standard-bearer who we are all expected to assist to win the November 6, 2021, governorahip stool for the APC”.
“As it stands, the party and its rank and file have spoken,” they stated.
