Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention, a High Court at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Abuja Judicial Division, has granted an interim injunction to stop the party from tampering or replacing the names of those duly elected as statutory delegates for the PDP National Convention.
It also granted an interim injunction to restrain the PDP from preventing the Claimants/ Applicants from attending the convention. In suit no. FCT/KC/CV/2689/21 M/7111/2021 between Kayode Ogunubi, Akoko-Edo PDP Chairman and others, being the Claimants/ Applicants, and PDP, Governor Finitri, being the defendants, counsel to the Claimant/ Applicants, Chief Dan Orbih SAN, in an originating summons argued by C.P. Aninwoya, obtained an order of the court granting:
“Order of Interim Injunction restraining the defendants at any level by itself, its servants, agents, officers…from substituting the claimants with others who are not in the already established Edo State PDP delegates list for the national convention scheduled to hold on October 30 and 31 or any other date, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice. “
An order of interim injunction restraining the defendants, their agents, officers, servants, or proxies…from preventing the claimants from attending the national convention.

The court granted the applications as prayed by the claimants restraining the defendants from substituting the names of the established delegates, and also restraining the defendants from preventing the claimants from attending the convention.
The case was adjourned to October 29, for a motion on notice (M/7112/2021/ to be taken. It was signed by the presiding judge, Justice B. Belgore.
