Immediate Past Director,PGA , admonishes new Exco

Samson Lawal, the immediate-past Director of Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of Nigeria, on Monday urged the association’s newly-elected Executive Committee to uphold the values of golf and the association’s ideals.

it reported that a new executive committee of the association was formed at its recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was attended by 116 members.

“This is a call to service and I strongly believe in their abilities individually and collectively, and I wish them a very successful tenure.

“Good or bad learn, they must from our (the immediate-past executive committee’s) successes and make amendments where we struggled. I have so much faith in your collective effort,” he told newsmen in Lagos.

it was reported that the election was to have been held in 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic forced its postponement.

Philmoore is taking over from Lawal who had served the maximum two terms of two years each.

At the election, Uchenna Ezebuiro from IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja was elected as Operations Director, while clubmate Segun Obamuwe emerged unopposed for his second term as Finance Director.

Johnbull Dangofa, Head Resident Pro at HSD Golf Club in Yenagoa was elected as Tournament Director, joining the Executive Committee for the first time.

Similarly, Musa Ayuba from IBB International Golf and Country Club was elected as Executive Committee Member II for his first time in the Executive Committee.

Aminu Baba, also from IBB International Golf and Country Club, was elected for a second term as Executive Committee Member
