What must be done to end killings, kidnappings in S’East – Joe Igbokwe
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has called on people from Southeastern Nigeria to get set to battle bandits causing mayhem in the region.
Referring to the activities of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Igbokwe urged people who are not happy with the havoc to come together to fight them off the land.
In a post he made on Facebook, the politician wrote, “If you are from SE, if you love SE, If you are not happy with the killings and kidnappings in the SE, if you have a true and bonafide Igbo blood in you please get ready for the final battle to take back the land of the rising Sun from bandits.”
Recall that Igbokwe had earlier accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of sponsoring the proscribed group.
Also, in 2022, Igbokwe said, “Every man in Igboland must stand up and chase these bandits and criminals out of Igboland and take back our South East, the land of the rising sun. Nobody has a monopoly of violence. Force respects force. The language these bandits or Boko Haram of South East will understand now is dialogue on an equal basis.”
