Tragedy struck in Sokoto State as the daughter and three grandchildren of the State’s Secretary to the Government, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa lost their lives in a fire incident.
The tragic event occurred in the early hours of Monday.
It was gathered that the deceased was trapped with her children when the fire broke out while they were asleep.
She was married to Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.
Only her husband survived the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation as the Sokoto State Fire Service worked for hours to extinguish the flames.
The remains of the victims are scheduled to be buried at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque Sifawa later today.
The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of sympathy, with the Deputy Governor, Eng. Idris Mohammed Gobir, members of the State Executive Council, APC leaders, and numerous friends and well-wishers arriving in Sifawa to offer their condolences and support to the bereaved family.
