Buhari gets report on Magu’s probe

The Justice Ayo Salami panel probing activities of Mr Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has submitted its report of President Muhammadu Buhari, 45 days after it commenced sitting.

The report was presented at the Executive Council chambers at a short ceremony.

Magu was suspended from office over alleged financial malfeasance and breach of oath of office for public officers. Several documents were reportedly tendered, and testimonies obtained from lawyers and other citizens, to show that the ex-EFCC boss abused his office.

Magu, on his part, alleged witch hunt from powerful persons in government, including Mr. Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation.

Buhari is expected to take a decision which would finally determine Magu’s fate.
