Delta PDP chair tasks politicians on landmark projects

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Kingsley Esiso, has advised politicians, especially public office holders to ensure they embark on strategic projects that would stand the test of time so that posterity would be kind to them long after their tenure in office.
He made this admonition while delivering a speech during the unveiling of Brooklyn Park Executive Multipurpose Hall at Otor-Udu, the administrative headquarters of the Udu Local Government area of the state.
The PDP chairman applauded the LGA boss, Chief Jite Brown, for his brilliant choice of developmental projects.
He noted that the project being commissioned would go a long way in impacting positively the lives of the people in the community for a very long time.
Esiso reaffirmed the determination of the party to consolidate the council’s current achievements to reclaim Udu LGA as one of its strongholds in the state.
Reacting to the recent pronouncement of the Appeal Court which ruled in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 18 state House of Assembly election, the PDP stalwart said the party flag bearer, Chief Jite Brown, did not lose the election in Udu, but that the ruling party lost the election to the opposition based on the court ruling.
He said, “Our son here, Chief Jite Brown, did not lose any election to APC in the Udu council area, we lost the election in Udu temporarily due to court pronouncements but we are very optimistic that sooner than later we will take it back from them because Udu is going to be one of the strongholds of PDP in the state.”
He commended the council Chairman, Brown, for executing some laudable projects in Udu, saying, “It gives me joy to see council chairmen execute projects in their communities. I commend you and want you to execute more projects within the few months you have left in office”.
While urging other PDP local government chairmen to emulate the Udu council boss in his quest to leave behind an enduring legacy in the council area, Chief Esiso, noted that these projects would speak in their favour when they finally leave the office or want to aspire to higher political offices in the state.
Earlier in his speech, the Udu LGA Chairman, Brown, said he drew the inspiration to embark on the various projects from the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, a way of demonstrating that he keyed into his desire to do more for the people.
He said, “This project Brooklyn Park/Exco Multi-Purpose Hall Building & Solar Flood Lights here at the headquarters of Udu Local Government and others to be commissioned soon are all in line with the State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda towards improving the quality of lives of our people.
“The edifice will address accessible contact with all supervisors, an improved state of convenience for registry marriages, larger conference room for governmental meetings, amongst others.”
The Supervisor for Finance in the Council, Lawson Oghoifor, thanked the Chairman for the multi-purpose hall, explaining that the hall contains an office for each supervisor.
The Ovie of Udu kingdom, His Royal Majesty, E.B.O Delekpe, represented by Chief Uparan Moses, President-General of Udu kingdom; Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Chief Vincent Oyibo, Chief Oghenekaro Goru, Board member representing Urhobo Ethnic Nationality in DESOPADEC.
Also present at the occasion was the Chairman of the state Local Government Service Commission, Joseph Otirhue, among other dignitaries.
