As Nigerians, you must be law abiding everywhere you find yourselves – NIDO

The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora (NIDO), Africa, Dr Kingsman Nwobodo, has urged Nigerians in Diaspora to be good ambassadors by projecting Nigeria in good light.
Nwobodo specifically called on Nigerians living in Swaziland, officially known as Eswatini, to unite and live as brothers in order to collectively protect themselves in their host country.
The call is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Enugu by the Public Relations Officer of the group, Eswatini chapter, Mr Emeka Eluche.
Eluche stated that Nwobodo made the call during his official visit to Eswatini on Sept. 4.
“NIDO worldwide, especially its Africa regional body, is committed to ensuring that Nigerians outside the shores of our country, no matter where they found themselves, are united and safe.
“NIDO will continue to ensure that Nigerians remain good ambassadors of our great nation.
“As Nigerians, you must be law abiding everywhere you find yourselves, even in the Kingdom of Eswatini,” Nwobodo was quoted to have said.
He expressed gratitude to the Association of Nigerian Nationals in Eswatini (ANNIES), a sub-body of NIDO Eswatini, for an elaborate reception organised in his honour.
Earlier, President of ANNIES, Mr Kenneth Ihemekwele, who was said to have mobilised Nigerians in Eswatini to receive Nwobodo, said the visit had ushered in greater unity among Nigerians living in the country.
“Today is an historic day. It marks a great leap from the past in the lifespan of this noble organisation.
“We are excited that the dream of our founding fathers is being fulfilled today,” Ihemekwele said.

He thanked Nwobodo for visiting Eswatini and assured him that they would “continue to remain great ambassadors of our country”.
“We will continue to promote the great and positive virtues that Nigerians are known for,” he assured.
Highlights of the visit were the handing over of the Certificate-of-Recognition to NIDO Eswatini and inauguration of the Executive Council of ANNIES-NIDO Eswatini.
ANNIES is part of the African arm of a global Nigerian Diaspora network under NIDO.
It was established in 1990 and registered in Eswatini in 2014 under the country’s Companies Act.
