The Lagos State Government has approved that all classes in both public and private schools resume.
Folasade Adefisayo, Lagos State Commissioner for Education, made the announcement on Monday.
She says that the decision was taken after careful deliberations and consultations with relevant stakeholders including educators and safety professionals.
The government has stipulated that all schools resume on Monday, October 19, 2020. This includes pupils in pre-primary and nursery schools.
Schools have been advised to put safety first by complying to COVID-19 safety protocols and hygiene guidelines.
Adefisayo urged schools to ensure that they are cleared by the Office of Education Quality Assurance before the resumption.
