Students and Pupils of Primary and Post Primary Schools in public and Private Schools in Akoko North east local government area of Ondo state who were unable to resume for 2nd term academic session due to 24-hour curfew imposed on the community by the state government on Monday joined their counterparts from other parts of Ondo state.

As early as 7am, school buses on streets were picking school children.
Besides, Bank Officials opened their premises to Customers.

An educationist, Ibrahim Badmus said the development was sequel to a directive from the state ministry of education signed by Mr S.O Abaya on behalf of Zonal Education Officer in Ikare Akoko.
The directive further warned headteachers and principals not to embark on any extra lessons or coaching for the pupils for the time being.

However, the turn out of pupils was not encouraging due to the effects of the communal crisis.
Banks in Ikare Akoko fully resumed for transactions with complaints from customers that new notes of N1,000, N,500 and N 200 are being hoarded by bank officials despite January 31st deadline for the rejection of old notes.

A bank customer, Chief Tayo Origbesoye said he hadn’t touched or seen the new notes since they were rebranded.

Another respondent,Chief Adebayo Odofin said speculation was very.rife that new notes distributed are secretly reserved for politicians for votes buying next month.

They urged the Central Bank to make sure enough new notes are in circulation or deadline to be extended.
