The Northern Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders have unanimously adopted the former Senate President Iyorchia Ayu for the position of the National Chairman of the party.

The North-Central zone of the party had earlier yesterday adopted the former Senate President as their consensus candidate for the party’s national chairman.

Also Yesterday the PDP Northern caucus meeting ended without agreeing to a consensus candidate for the position of national chairman.

The meeting, which started at 8pm came to an end at 9.35pm.

Addressing journalists shortly after yesterday’s meeting at the Bauchi Government Lodge in Asokoro, the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, said some of the leaders could not agree to the position canvassed by some of leaders.

He said the three zones are interested in the chairmanship position and other positions zoned to the North.

The meeting continued today at 11am.
