Secondary school student kills colleague over boyfriend

A student of the Nkwadum D/A Junior High School in Ghana has been reportedly killed by her colleague during a scuffle over a boy.

The school is located in the Akontombra District of the Western North region of the West African Country.

According to MyJoyOnline, the 16-year-old victim identified as Akua Kumah was stabbed in the breast by her 15-year-old colleague, Francisca Hayford during a fight over a boyfriend.

It was learnt that the suspected killer was taken into police custody at Sefwi-Akontombra and was assisting with an investigation into the incident.

Assemblyman for Nkwadum Electoral Area, Isaac Etsie, said the misunderstanding ensued between the two students while they were returning from school on Monday May 23.

Etsie said “I was informed on Monday evening that two students were having a fight, and during the fisticuffs, the 15-year-old in JHS 2 stabbed the 16-year-old in JHS 3 in the breast.”
