Nigerians react as UK set to deport Pastor Tobi Adegboyega

The move to deport a Nigerian Pastor, Tobi Adegboyega by the United Kingdom authorities has continued to generate diverse reactions from Nigerians.

Adegboyega, who is the founder of the SPAC Nation church, a UK-based church, was found guilty of some financial misconduct at his church after an investigation by the immigration tribunal.

The immigration tribunal ruled that the socialite failed to properly account for over £1.87 million in expenses and operated without transparency.

The news of his possible deportation has generated reactions from some Nigerians on social media.

Reacting, a Facebooker, Obum Osigwe wrote, “My take on Pst Tobi Adegboyega; If you see a Pastor that does not mismanage church money or use it for his personal upkeep, that is a Pastor that is ready to make heaven. Church money is not the Pastor’s money.”

On X, a user, Unwana Assam wrote, “Good for him. A man whose character never portrayed him as Pastor needs to return to his country and practice same. Such a lifestyle using ministry to cover up is not needed there. Nigeria needs him more. He should come and join his friend Daddy Freeze and others in Nigeria.”

“Everyone should represent their own calling well. You can’t yourself a man of God and you are just like any other person. Be different,” were the words of Andino Asuquo on X.

A user with the ID, Daddy Ire & Tiara said, “Wishing another man downfall is so insane…Una wey be God Ambassador too much for this country.”

Arthur of Camelot wrote, “The Tobi Adegboyega story is wild but the wildest thing about it, is where a man who wears designer clothes, flaunts super expensive watches & supercars, goes to court and says ‘I earn no money, I’m supported 100% by my wife who makes £100k p/a, she also pays the house rent’.”

Posting Adegboyega’s picture alongside his view, a user, Damilola said, “This yahoo yahoo fr@udulent Tobi Adegboyega, will be deported back to ogun state this month. He’s a sc@mmer who’s using church as a cover to scam people. Yorubaboons don cast worldwide. Cr!m!nals.”
