Nigeria Paralympic athletes back home

 

Team Nigeria athletes to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in France, have all returned to the Country.

The 24 athletes, excluding officials, returned into the Country on Monday and Tuesday 10th of September in three batches.

The first batch which carried the Golden Para- Powerlifters, landed at 11 pm Nigeria time with AIR MAROC while the second batch, made up mainly of Para Table Tennis players arrived 8 am Tuesday morning through Qatar Airline.

The last batch made up of the Para- Ahletics team arrived 12 noon Tuesday, confirming that all Nigeria Paralympic Athletes to Paris have returned safely into the country.

President of the Paralympic Committee Nigeria, Sunday Odebode gave God all the glory for the safe return of Team Nigeria athletes from Paris, France. He equally commended the Sports Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh for being there for the athletes.

Also happy for Team Nigeria safe trip to and from Paris was Prof. Mariam Adefunke Suleiman, the President of the National Association of Nigeria Women in Sports (NAWIS), who thanked God for guiding our athletes all through.

Meanwhile, the returnee Paralympians are full of praises for the FMSD Lagos Liaison officer, Mrs Nkana Mbora for her motherly role in mobilizing Lagosians who besieged the Muritala Mohammed International Airport to welcome the victorious Nigeria Paralympic Contingent

Nigeria won a total of two gold, two Silver and three bronze medals.
