The Southwest caucus in the House of Representatives has condemned in strong terms the killings in the region particularly in Igangan community in Oyo state perpetrated by suspected herdsmen on Sunday.
The caucus staged a walk out at plenary when a member, Hon Muraina Ajibola(PDP, Oyo) was prevented to raise his motion during matters of urgent importance as regards killings in Igangan community in Oyo state.
Addressing newsmen during a press conference shortly after the walk -out, the group frowned at the killings and urged the executive arm of government to put an end to insecurity in the country.
According to Fakeye, it was necessary to let the world know that they are concerned about what is going on in the region, condemning the killing by invaders, bandits, marauders and herdsmen.
“We urge the federal government to to put all in place to address the matter. As parliament, we can only voice out our feelings. We want the government to send the right signals to stop others from engaging in the act. We don’t want them to get away with it.

All the security apparatus must work together in synergy. We do not want problem in this country and for this not to happen government should be seen to be doing what they ought to do”, Fakeye said.
According to reports, houses of over 50 defenceless indigenes of the town were destroyed and burnt to ashes including the palace of the Oba of the town (Asigangan of lgangan) adding that petrol filling stations and shops with goods inside, trucks with goods inside as well as other properties worth millions of Naira were razed to ashes by suspected bandits on Sunday.
