Kano anti-graft agency probes N20bn land scam

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has investigated a N20bn land scam in different parts of the state.

The Chairman of the commission, Muhuyi Magaji, announced this while addressing journalists yesterday in Kano.

Magaji said that 15 suspects, including the Registrar of the Kano State High Court, three lawyers, and four officials from the Ministry of Lands, had been arrested.

He explained that a former Deputy Sheriff and a court bailiff were also arrested concerning the land scam.

“The suspects allegedly attempted to bribe operatives of the Department of State Services ( DSS)  with N2 million, but their offer was rejected.

Magaji commended the Chief Judge of Kano State for their support and cooperation.

He commended Gov. Abba  Yusuf for giving the commission a marching order to go after anyone involved in the scam.

He commended Yusuf for promising not to spare anyone found guilty, regardless of their position.
