A 42-year-old woman, Funke Ajayi, on Friday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a smartphone worth N65, 000.

Ajayi, however, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Seye Akinola told the court that the defendant committed the offense on Jan. 26, at 12. 00 p.m. at Idi-Odo Felele, Ibadan.

Akinola alleged that the defendant stole a smartphone belonging to one Ayanfe Popoola.

He said that the offense was contrary to and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Taskforce recovers 500 cows, sheep rustled in Niger state

The Magistrate, Mrs. Iyabo Giwa-Babalola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until March 10 for a hearing.
