*Pro #EndSARS Campaigners Pull Out Of Protest*

…Accuse Opposition Political Class of Infiltration

As the tempo of protests in various parts of the country assumes a new dimension, the Coalition of Concerned #EndSARS Campaign Nationwide, a group believed to be pro-#EndSARS has pulled out of the protest.

It hinged its decision on the antics of the opposition, accusing politicians of hijacking the legitimate protests meant to draw government’s attention to police brutality in the country.

The group also condemned the call by some protesters for resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the development was contrary to the spirit of the #EndSARS protests.

To this end,the group in a statement signed by Adewale Akin for South West; Architect Sunday Oche for North Central; Comrade Abbas Mohammed, representing North West;Comrade Ibrahim Gaidam for North East and Mazi Ifeanyi Edochie for South West, respectively, and made available to ThisNigeria in Abuja today announced they have pulled out of the agitation.

The group said events of the moment, especially the prison break at Benin,Edo State ,Monday morning, were among issues that necessitated it to have a rethink about continuous participation in the protests.

It also alleged that,”credible intelligence available to us indicates that these people have received money running into several millions with the sole aim of sponsoring miscreants to hijack the protest and cause insurrection in Nigeria.”

The statement read in part, “Our attention has been drawn to a very dangerous and unpatriotic actions of some of our so-called faces of the protests against police brutality in the country.”

“We are very concerned about the development given that it has resorted to using our well thought youths movement against police brutality to soliciting and receiving funds from some opposition political parties to destabilize Nigeria for their selfish interests.”

“Credible intelligence available to us indicates that these people have received money running into several millions with the sole aim of sponsoring miscreants to hijack the protest and cause insurrection in Nigeria.

“This, they have started with the call for the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari.”

“We wish to categorically state that the recent call by some of these few groups of disgruntled protesters amongst us is the handiwork of these desperate politicians and political parties who are bent on pulling down our country by all means.

“Only recently, some of these politicians and political parties were in power and didn’t do anything for the masses. They rather looted our treasury and left problems for us.”

“As a matter of fact, the SARS and police brutality precede this government and President Muhammadu Buhari.”

We wonder why they desperately want to cash on the protest of innocent Nigerian youths to further their political agenda. We implore them to wait till 2023”.
