The Neo-Black Movement of Africa has unequivocally dissociated itself from an alleged criminal organization, Black Axe.
It will be recalled that the International Police (Interpol) labeled the Black Axe a criminal organization, whose members it said were linked to strings of international financial scams and other criminal activities.
NBM, at a world press conference in Lagos, Nigeria, last week Friday, explained that concerted effort in the clarification of its unique identity as a responsible body that touches and impacts positively on lives and communities all over Africa was being deliberately twisted by those it said benefit from so doing.
Ese Kakor (JP), the National President, and Efe Akpokiniovo, a member of the Body of Founders and the Board of Trustees of NBM of Africa, disclosed this in a statement issued at the end of the conference.
It disclosed that some expelled group members were behind intentions to malign and defame it, pointing out that NBM of Africa has a database.
They stated that the NBM of Africa, as a structured and disciplined entity, is working continually on the ideals for which it was established, under the principles of Pan-Africanism and the advancement of Black solidarity, social justice, and equality for all disadvantaged persons globally.
They added that the motto of the NBM of Africa is social justice, equality, and equity for all, describing it as unfortunate that anyone would malign and defame it by associating the former with Black Axe.
According to the group, “There is a conspiracy to malign members of NBM of Africa. We have tried to bring down that particular page on Wikipedia, but as much as we try, these malicious people, in an attempt to malign NBM members, have conspired and vowed to ensure that the page remains, all with the intent to malign the characters of NBM members. We totally dissociate ourselves from Black Axe and all efforts on social media to discredit NBM of Africa.
“NBM of Africa has nothing to do with the Black Axe Confraternity. NBM is not a criminal organization and should not be dragged into needless comparison with Black Axe and criminal activities committed by unscrupulous elements.
“Black Axe is well known to be a criminal organization. NBM of Africa has no link whatsoever with Black Axe, and NBM of Africa finds it maligning, disparaging, and defamatory for anyone or group to associate it with Black Axe Confraternity.
“Let us place it on record that the logo of NBM is being copied, imitated, and plagiarized by unscrupulous elements, all in a bid to tarnish the NBM of Africa.
“We smell a conspiracy to malign this organization. Activities on social media handles like Facebook, TikTok, Wikipedia, and Instagram operated by sanctioned/expelled members and non-members claiming to be members clearly show the conspiracy to defame, disparage, and tarnish the organization’s character.
“NBM will not sit down and see how false narratives are propagated as facts. These narratives are presumptions and fictitious.
“The NBM of Africa should not be held responsible for plagiarism and imitation done by others, and we welcome investigations by the security agencies into our affairs. Our books and bank accounts are open for audit and review.”
