FCT: Idu Industrial Park will create 40,000 direct jobs, says Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has assured that the Idu Industrial Park will create 40,000 direct jobs upon completion.

Wike gave this assurance on Wednesday during an inspection of the Park in the Idu area of Abuja.

The Minister noted that the park was a wonder that could revolutionise the economy of the FCT and the country at large.

Wike also assured he would facilitate the dualisation of the single lane road which leads into the Park.

He disclosed that the Park has been given a free trade zone status to facilitate companies into it for production.

“When fully operational, this place will create 40,000 direct employment.

“This is mind blowing as it is my first time of coming to this park. The Federal government has offered to dualise the road that leads here. It is about 8 to 10 km and it will benefit us tremendously,” Wike said.

He stated further that the Industrial Park was part of efforts to create employment for the youths and grow the economy.

“Many companies will like to come here to reap the benefits of the free trade zone. The park will enjoy regular electricity, which is what encourages production. The MD of Zeberced Group has assured me that in 29 months time, this project will be completed,” the Minister said.
