#EndSARS: Sanwo-Olu announces closure of Lagos schools

The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has ordered that all students stay at home from tomorrow.
Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, made this announcement on Monday. She said Governor Sanwo-Olu has approved the closure of both public and private schools with immediate effect from tomorrow.
This announcement is against the backdrop of the rising tension in Lagos state resulting from the #EndSARS protests.
She said, “the safety of the students, parents and all staff working in schools is paramount at this critical period. A new date of resumption for all classes will be announced as soon as possible.”
She urged all parents to keep an eye on their wards and not allow them to become tools in the hands of those who might want to hijack the protests by unleashing mayhem on the society.
The commissioner also enjoined schools to utilize other means of distance teaching and learning such as radio, television and online media as they have been doing during and post the recent COVID-19 lockdown.
