Osun PDP urges Babayemi to withdraw suit against Adeleke

Sensing danger ahead, members of the Prince Dotun Babayemi Apex Committee and leaders of the PDP in Osun have urged Prince Dotun Babayemi to withdraw his suit against the primary election that produced Senator Ademola Adeleke as the party flagbearer.

According to the statement, members of the Apex Committee worked assiduously for the success of the PDP and will not sabotage the party at this time when victory has been procured.

It reads “HE Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Alh. Shuaib Oyedokun, Dr. Olu Alabi, Alh. Tajudeen Oladipo, Erelu Olusola Obada, Alh. Fatai Akinbade, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo and 42 members of the Apex Committee of Prince Dotun Babayemi, wish to put on record, our dedicated contributions to the success of the PDP at the Governorship election.”

“Following the intervention of the Okowa-led delegation sent to the State by the national leadership, we all resolved to work together for the party and ensure its success at the polls.

None of the leaders mentioned above sabotaged the party’s victory in any area of the State; the results from all the wards and Local Governments in the State attests to this fact.”

“With a series of reconciliation meetings and appeals made to our members by eminent members of the PDP, including Alh. Atiku Abubakar, Gov Ifeanyi Okowa, Gov. Duoye Diri, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, Gov. Godwin Obaseki, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu and others, the PDP leaders aforementioned had also advised Prince Dotun Babayemi to desist from further pursuing the litigation against the Primary election that produced Sen. Ademola Adeleke.”

“We understand that Prince Babayemi is a man of honour and will desist from further pursuing this case so that the party can operate in unity and pursue success with the onerous task of governance ahead of us.

“We are committed to the success of the party and will continue to seek its stability.”
