
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has recommended the suspension of Nigeria’s super cop, DCP Abba Kyari, to the Police Service Commission.
The recommendation was contained in a letter dated July 31st, 2021.
Kyari, who is the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), is under investigation for alleged bribery involving alleged internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas a.k.a Hushpuppi.
IGP Baba, in the letter, said that Kyari’s suspension was in line with the internal disciplinary processes of the Nigerian Police Force.

Baba stated further that suspending the super cop will create an enabling environment for the NPF Special Investigation Panel to carry out its investigations without interference.
The Special Investigation Panel (SIP) comprises of four (4) Senior Police Officers.
It is headed by DIG Joseph Egbunike, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID).
