Federal government to reposition economy with N2.3trillion

N2.3 trillion has been earmarked to be spent by the Federal Government in an effort to reposition the country’s economy and soften the effects of the pandemic.
This assurance was given by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity during a presentation at the 2nd Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Islamic University Malaysia Alumni Association, Nigeria chapter on Saturday.
He revealed that a N500bn COVID-19 Crisis Intervention Fund will be used to improve health facilities around the country and fund a Special Public Works Programme. He also said that the CBN will structurally lend N1.1tn and a revenue of N334bn will be gotten from external bilateral and multilateral sources while N302.9bn will be derived from unnamed faucets.
Adesina went on to say that states and local government can play major roles in supplementing the exertions of the Federal government.
