Kebbi High Court makes U-turn, nullifies order reinstating Secondus as PDP chairman

Tobi Adebayo
A High Court in Kebbi state, on Thursday, made a u-turn from its previous order returning Uche Secondus as national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Justice Nusirat Umar, who delivered the initial ruling, vacated the order and lamented that Secondus’ lawyer caused embarrassment to the judiciary.

She accused the lawyer of concealing important information of the case from the court, including the fact that Secondus had been suspended from the PDP by the party’s ward executives in Rivers state.

Justice Umar then added that the court lacked the jurisdiction to hear and determine the previous matter.

Recall that a High Court in Rivers state had granted an interim order which restrained Secondus from parading himself as the party’s chairman.
