NIICO Hosts Conference in Benin City

As part of strategies to sensitize Edo people about the cultural impact of constituency projects in Nigeria, the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NIICO) is organizing a 2 day conference entitled “Culture, Zonal Intervention Projects and National Development” in Benin City.

Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NIICO), Hon. Muhammed Yahuza at the event said the conference will set a roadmap for sustainable development that will position Nigeria as a global cultural hub. He then commended the Federal Government and National Assembly for their immense support in ensuring that Nigeria’s cultural potentials are further harnessed for the benefit of all Nigerians.

On his part, the Chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Friday Itulah thanked the management of NIICO for choosing Edo state as the venue for the conference because of its position  as the cradle of black civilization. He said “We need to re-evaluate Nigeria’s developmental plans so as to incorporate culture into it”

He urged members of National Assembly to devote more funds for zonal interventional projects to in order to bring the dividends of good governance closer to the people.

The event also had former house of representatives member, Rt. Hon. Patrick Ikhariale as special guest of honour and Chief Ekundayo Idehen as the Father of the Day.

The conference later moved into a technical session with notable resource persons speaking about  several topics as it concerns culture and National development
