The Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya, has been decorated with the rank of Lieutenant General by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The brief ceremony took place on Wednesday at the State House, Abuja.
The event was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor, and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali, amongst others.
Yahaya was appointed as the new COAS on May 27, 2021.
This was shortly after the death of Ibrahim Attahiru, who died in a plane crash on May 21, 2021.
