Maina’s conviction another example God exists – Reno Omokri

Tobi Adebayo
Reno Omokri, an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to the conviction and jailing of a former Pensions boss, Abdulrasheed Maina.

ThisNigeria reported that Justice Okon Abang of the Abuja Federal High Court found Maina guilty of money laundering and sentenced him to jail for 61 years.

However, the sentence will run concurrently for 8 years.

Reacting to the judgment via Instagram on Monday, Omokri said it was an example that “God does exist”

He wrote: “On September 21, 2019, Abdulrasheed Maina, the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, sued me for defamation for calling him a dishonest person. He asked for ₦4 billion in damages. The very same day, I fasted and prayed to the Most High God, and Maina, who had previously been in hiding, was arrested exactly two weeks after he sued me.

“Today, November 8, 2021, Abdulrasheed Maina, was convicted for money by Justice Okon Abang and sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

“Please do not tell me there is no God, or that he does not answer prayers. This is one more example, in a long list of testimonies, that proves that God does exist and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

“My next prayer is for God to spare my life until Buhari to leave office, so I can travel to Nigeria and visit Maina and his son in prison to personally offer them my condolences for their conviction.”
