Warri council in Delta moves against cultism

Dr. Michael Tidi, Chairman, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta on Thursday warned cultists operating in Warri to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

Tidi gave the warning in Warri while responding to an online medium publication that alleged that cultists had taken over some strategic areas in Warri’s South Local Government Area.

An online medium recently posted that the auto spare parts market at “Lower Erejuwa’’ and some other areas were being terrorized by suspected cultists leaving the residents in fear.

Tidi said the council was ready to partner with law enforcement agencies to flush out the miscreants.

“Throughout the festive period, there was no security breach in the council area. However, we are going to flush out these miscreants operating under the guise of cultism.

“Henceforth, anyone caught indulging in any form of cult-related activities would face the full weight of the law,’’ Tidi warned.

The council boss advised parents to monitor the activities of their wards and also to prevail on their children to desist from cultism. (NAN)
