Davido donates over N200 million to 424 orphanages

Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Thursday announced that he has disbursed N237,000,000 to 424 Orphanages across the country.
In a statement made available on his official Twitter page on Thursday the “If” crooner revealed that about 13,818 children will benefit from the donation.
“I’ve always wanted to use my platform to serve others. Thankful that through your generousity, I’ve been able to do so. We recently disbursed over N200m to several orphanages in Nigeria, a tradition that started a few years ago around my birthday. Thank you to everyone who donated. With your help, we are changing lives,” Davido wrote.
“This is what I mean when I say We rise by lifting others. These are words in action. God bless you all!” he added.
Davido explained further that he decided to raise funds for the orphanages following the impact of his donations to some selected orphanages in 2021.
Recall that several Nigerians donated money when Davido took to the social media in 2021 to solicit funds for what he described as “the clearance of my Rolls Royce vehicle at the ports.”
