I would have been pornstar, not model –Sauce

Model/actor, Olamide David Martin, popularly known as ‘Sauce’, is a native of Ede, Osun State, Nigeria. He was born and raised in Lagos State on the 14th of August, 1992, and is a graduate of media and mass communication at the University of Edexel in the Republic of Benin. In an interview with Quadri Akanbi, Sauce reveals that he would have been a porn star if he hadn’t pursued his career as a model/actor. He also reveals how he started his career as a model. Excerpts:
What gave birth to the name, Sauce?
Well, Sauce is a nickname I stole from a schoolmate back then in school. Sincerely, And whenever I was involved in any activity in school back then, I made things interesting and fun. I also enjoyed providing solutions to problems, so, my friends were like you are the real sauce. From that point, I got the name, real sauce. That was how the name ‘Sauce’ came about… Someone who makes things happen.
At what age did you decide to be a model?
I have always seen myself as a model right at my basic school level because I get compliments from both genders. But the opportunity never came until I met someone called Mr. Dasilva Olasunkanmi, who gave me a platform to unveil myself as a model and other things I had always been craving for, like being an actor and a producer.
What is your advice to parents who do not allow their children to become models, especially females, concerning nudity in modeling?
The thing is, parents can’t tame their kids to always become what they want, in respect of who they are. Instead, they have to guide them through it all, because as a model, you are using what God has given to you to positively impact on living. In terms of nudity, it all depends on the stage as professionals like individual perspectives. You can always set boundaries on what you want in the industry because it is all about art that speaks about beautiful images.
If not modeling, what else would you do as a profession?
Yeah, maybe a porn star…
What are your goals as a model?
Basically, my aim is to lay down a platform for the young ones out there by creating an agency that can always give them the spotlight to express themselves to the world.
As a model, who is the model do you admire?
The likes of Naomi Campbell, Cassie
As a model, how do you organise your daily schedule?
I wake up with my alarm clock at 5:00 am, then I pray, exercise with push-ups, drink lots of water, then glance at my diary for my daily activities before taking the day one step at a time.
How do you handle feedback on your job?
It actually depends.
What do you like doing in your free time?
Relaxation actually
Do you think modeling is safe for teenage kids? What is your suggestion?
It is very safe for teenagers as much as they are with the right agency to groom them into the line light.
What modeling experience do you have?
Yeah, with a couple of clothing brands and some drinks brands like Hennessy.
Tell me about a challenge you faced when modeling.
Could be time-consuming at times. And keep up with fitness.
How well do you communicate with your colleagues?
Pretty often.
How do you handle a situation where your client asks for a nude posture?
I have to do what’s good for business.
Where did you see yourself in the next five years?
As one of the most talked about fast-rising stars in the industry
What advice do you have for young people who are just starting their careers, specifically concerning modeling?
Basically, you just have to keep fighting for your dream and be focused, determined, and prayerful.
What is your most embarrassing day as an actor?
Was late on set and the director was so mad at me. It happened sometime in Dubai.

The likes of Jason Statham, Viola Davis, Odunlade Adekola, Kunle Afolayan Angelina Jolie, and Tyler Perry.
