An entertainment company, Lafrique Promedia Ltd., says it has designed a digital platform called ‘E9ja’ to build lasting and impactful structures toward the development of the creative and entertainment industry in Nigeria.
Mr Rahman Raji, Managing Director of the company, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
According to Raji, the platform is specifically designed to address problems in the entertainment industry which include rampant and unchecked piracy, as well as a lack of accurate data on stakeholders in the industry.
Others are the inability to identify and track owners of creative content, as well as the issue of a lack of business and logistics structures to drive the distribution of creative content, among others.
He said the platform utilises digital applications to automatically detect and remove intellectual property infringements online.
“Through automation rules, our platform can enforce intellectual property rights and recover revenue from global online marketplaces, social media networks, websites and other online channels,” he said.
He said the E9ja platform could be of benefit to online content creators such as music, films, books, course creators, writers, bloggers, photographers, e-com sellers and companies, who own any intellectual content or copyright products.
“It is aimed at putting in place a transparent, accountable and traceable worldwide system for the protection of intellectual property rights and recovery of revenue globally.
“The platform is a unique real-time Software as a Service (SaaS) intellectual property rights protection and revenue recovery platform that helps online content creators and brands protect their content against online theft and prevent loss of revenue.
“The platform has a combination of online protection, intellectual property rights enforcement, distribution monitoring and automated settlement of account capabilities, which provides full visibility into brands’ and content presence on the global digital landscape,” he said.
He urged all stakeholders in the creative and entertainment industry to take note of this new and progressive development in the creative industry in Nigeria. (NAN)
