2025 President Federation Cup final: Nasarawa Amazons, Rivers Angels talk tough

As Nasarawa Amazons FC of Nasarawa and Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt set to battle each other later today for the women’s 2025 President Federation Cup title, both teams are already talking tough of their chances in the Nigeria’s oldest and most glamourous football competition.
In their pre-match conference yesterday at the Popular Onikan Waterfront now Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, both teams expressed confidence of lifting the trophy no matter the opposition that comes their way.
Coach Christopher Danjuma of Nasarawa Amazons FC who spoke first, said he expects a tough match from the defending champions (Rivers Angels) but his girls will be equal to the challenge and at the end of the encounter will be victorious.
“Off course Rivers Angels have won the title several times and as the defending champions they are not going to be easy opponen, They are a good side, but we are not taking this opportunity for granted.
“We have prepared for the game and we are going into it well focused to win it. Yes it’s going to be a tough game but at the end we’ll be champions,” Coach Danjuma said.
His comments was supported by one of his top players, Joy Igbokwe, who stood in for the team’s captain.
” Just as our coach said, it’s not going to be an easy game. The technical crew have done their job and we are ready to execute it to our favour. We’ll do all we can at all cost to ensure that the 2025 President Federation Cup is taken back to Nasarawa State,” she said.
Responding, Rivers Angels Coach, Tosan Blankson said their opponent are day dreaming as the trophy will be heading back to Port Harcourt no matter the opposition thrown at them this afternoon by Nasarawa, saying that having missed the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women’s Football League NWFL title, they are using victory in President Federation Cup to compensate their teeming fans and the State government.
We are not here for play. We are here for really business. Having lost NWFL title we want to use this President Federation Cup as a compensation to state and our fans, and Nasarawa Amazons can’t stop us from achieving that,” he said.
He was collaborated by Rivers Angel Captain, Catherine Kenneth, who said: The President Federation Cup is like Rivers Angels birthright. We have won it severally. We won it last year and we are here to win it again.
