The NdIgbo for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Forum (NDI-ABAT) has congratulated Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, on the All Progressives Congress’ victory across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas in the August 22 council elections.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its National Coordinator, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, and Secretary-General, Dr Ugwuoke Ugwuoke Jr., the group described the outcome as a demonstration of political stability and public confidence in the state government.
NDI-ABAT also congratulated the newly elected council chairmen, particularly Engr. Osborn Umahi of Ohaozara Local Government Area, while commending Ebonyi voters for their peaceful participation in the elections.
The group urged the council chairmen to justify their mandates by prioritising grassroots development, transparency, effective public services and inclusive governance.
Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, NDI-ABAT called on the elected local government leaders to support policies and programmes it said were promoting economic transformation, infrastructure development and national growth under Tinubu’s administration.
The forum said growing political competition ahead of 2027 should not distract elected officials from delivering democratic dividends to their constituents.
It expressed confidence in Umahi and the other council chairmen, urging them to use their mandates to strengthen unity and development across Ebonyi State.
NDI-ABAT reaffirmed its commitment to what it described as constructive political engagement and democratic values, while advocating support for Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 election.
