Obajimi bags Triathlon continental appointment

Former Secretary General of Nigeria Triathlon Union (NTU), Gloria Obajimi has been appointed Vice President of the Confederation of African Triathlon Union.
The appointment was made at the African Delegates meeting during the just concluded World Triathlon Congress held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Speaking on the appointment, life President, Nigeria Triathlon Union, Dr. Lanre Glover described it as a welcome development noting that Obajimi as a seasoned sport administrator will bring her wealth of experience to bear on the development of the game in the continent.

” We at the Federation are happy with the appointment. Obajimi has been involved in sports administration for a very long time and has contributed immensely to developing the sports in Nigeria, and as a seasoned sports administrator, the continent stands to benefit immensely from her wealth of experience in moving the game of Triathlon forward in the continent “, he said.
Gloria Obajimi (Ph.D) was a sprinter in her hey days and participated as the country’s top sprinter at 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.
She was also a former Registrar and acting Director of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) Lagos.
With this latest appointment, NTU has at least regained its position at the Executive Committee level of the continental body.
