The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has congratulated Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed on his appointment as the Acting National Chairman of the party, describing it as a “refreshing relief” and a step toward the party’s reengineering and renewed unity.
In a congratulatory letter signed by the State Chairman, Barrister Venatius A. Ikem, the party said the news of Mohammed’s appointment came at a time many members were losing faith in the PDP’s direction, noting that his emergence offers hope for internal reconciliation and revival.
Ikem urged the new acting chairman to prioritise dialogue and reconciliation among the various tendencies within the party, stressing that the strength of the PDP lies in its democratic values and capacity to accommodate diverse opinions.
“Do not be deterred by the challenges of the moment but see them as stepping stones toward greater achievements for our people and the party,” Ikem stated.
He reaffirmed the support of the Cross River PDP leadership for Mohammed’s leadership, expressing confidence that his tenure would usher in an era of inclusive leadership that would harness collective energies toward nation-building.
“Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Long live the Peoples Democratic Party,” the statement concluded.
