The immediate past chief judge of Kano state High Court of Justice, Shehu Atiku is dead. He was laid to rest on Monday morning in Kano.
The Public Relations Officer, PRO Kano high court, Baba Ibrahim Jibo in statement issued on Monday morning confirmed the demise of the late jurist.
Jibo stated that the former CJ passed away on Sunday evening, after suffering from an undisclosed ailment.
The final Islamic funeral rites were performed on his remains at Umar Ibn Khattab mosque, on Monday morning before been interred in accordance to Islamic injunctions.
Our correspondent reports that hundreds of sympathizers have continued to visit his private residence located on Sokoto road to condole with his relatives.
The late Jurist retired as Kano chief judge in 2015, during his carried on the bench, late Atiku came to limelight, owing to his uncompromising qualities, when he presided over the failed banks tribunal.
