Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), a former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, were among dignitaries who celebrated the double diamond anniversary of Dr Tunji Olugbodi and his wife, Biyi, in Lagos over the weekend.
The ceremony, also attracted top advertising and media gurus, including a former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba; Chairman and Publisher of Vanguard Media Limited, Sam Amuka-Pemu; Chairman of STB-McCann, Sir Steve Omojafor; and seasoned outdoor advertising and media consultant, Dr Biodun Shobanjo, and veteran broadcaster Bisi Olatilo, among many others.
Dr Tunji Olugbodi is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Verdant Zeal Group, while his wife, Biyi, is the Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of BT Bytol Group of Companies.
In his remarks during the event held at the Balmoral Hall of the Sheraton Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Fagbemi described himself as a thoroughbred media practitioner.
He said, “In my observation, he is neat, which goes beyond the physical. He has unblemished clarity of thought and is very humble. He is respectful, and patient and understands the core values of society. I now understand that all these values are a result of the good wife he has. I wish them a happy diamond anniversary.”
Amaechi described Tunji as someone who aims at perfection in everything he does.
“He tries to achieve perfection. He is obedient, not minding age. Once you give him an assignment, you would get regular briefs almost every day. He would let you know what is going on. Once you are doing something wrong, he would tell you quietly that you are not correct without telling you that you are wrong,” he said.
Similarly, the former governor of Ekiti State, Fayemi said, “For me, he has come to occupy a position in my team and my family. He is not just a friend but also a brother who I consult on a whole range of things, not just communications.
“I am delighted to be here to celebrate him and his wife for attaining the diamond age and I pray we will all find cause to continue to celebrate with them and be back here for the platinum and several more years.”
In his remarks, Omojafor said, “Tunji and the amiable wife, I say welcome to the sixth floor. The good Lord that brought you this far has a lot of new areas for you to conquer and the good Lord will be there to guide and protect you.
“Whatever direction the good Lord directs you just take it, make the best of it and the good Lord will continue to give you all it takes to make a success of your life as well as the marriage and profession in which you are currently so deeply involved.”
