The House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education and Services has lauded the educational reforms and policies of the Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje
The Chairman of the Committee, Professor Julius Ihonvbere who led other members on oversight function to Kano State, applauded the KNSUBEB after they conducted visits to schools and other ongoing educational projects in the State.
Professor Julius Ihonvbere in a statement through his Legislative aide on Media and Publicity, Iriekpen Bright Omogbai, noted that the visit by the committee was necessary in order to inspect educational projects awarded by the Federal Government in the state, which he said is in line with the Committee’s mandate.
“Our visit today is to inspect the level at which funds from the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEC) to the State are been utilized and make observations where there are lapses in order to ensure that the standard of the basic education system in Nigeria is improved upon”.
“We are impressed with the level of educational reforms and programs been carried out by the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (KNSUBEB). The tremendous improvement in infrastructure, as well as the supply and distribution of teaching and learning materials aimed at improving the quality of education in the State, are quite laudable.”

“The effective utilization of funds from UBEC is result yielding and the Basic Education Committee in the House of Representatives is pleased and will ensure the continuous working relationship with KNSUBEB, to develop effective planning, financing and delivery systems that will further improve the quality of basic education in the state”.
Ihonvbere, further noted the importance of education, particularly at the basic level, in building the sector and urged the Kano State Universal Education Board, to continue in its commendable path, towards the advancements in the area of education.
The Committee members were on a courtesy visit to Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Governor of Kano State at the Government House.
