Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to upholding good governance and ensuring the equitable distribution of common wealth in Kano.
He said this pledge is a testament to “our dedication to serving the people of Kano with integrity and fairness.”
The Governor committed yesterday during the match pass parade to mark the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
A statement by the spokesperson to the Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, quoted the Governor as saying the NNPP administration is prepared to improve lives, foster inclusive growth, and build a society where every citizen can fulfil his or her potential.
Yusuf reminded us that despite the daunting challenges of economic pressure, social inequality, insecurity, and other social and economic instabilities, his government would continue, forging ahead to build a better society for Kano residents.
The Governor underscored that Nigeria’s independence anniversary is a time to reflect on the courageous actions of our nationalist leaders and forefathers.
“Their sacrifices and struggles for the liberation of our nation from British colonial rule will forever be remembered and honoured,” he stressed.
He said Nigerians would forever continue to appreciate the resilience and sacrifice of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Mallam Aminu Kano, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe, and a host of others.
The Governor used the opportunity to elaborate extensively on his administration’s achievements in education, healthcare services, agriculture, water supply, infrastructure, women and youth empowerment, and the environment.
Yusuf expressed his unwavering optimism that Nigeria will realize its full potential and ensure a better standard of living for all its citizens with the dedication of all and shared responsibility.
This optimism, the governor added, is a call to work together for a brighter future.
