I signed for Watford because of the opportunity to play in the English Premier League, Super Eagles star, Samuel Kalu has revealed.
Kalu was officially unveiled as Watford’s latest signing in the January transfer window on Wednesday. The former Gent winger signed a three-and-a-half-year deal from Bordeaux.
And speaking on why he moved to Vicarage Road, Kalu said it has been a long dream which he grabbed with his two hands.
“When I heard about the opportunity, I was feeling grateful,” Kalu said on Watford’s website. “It’s one of my dreams to play in the Premier League, this is what I want. I will be here to give my best,” he said.
The Hornets are currently embroiled in a relegation battle, having lost ten of their last 13 League games. They currently sit 19th on the table, two points from safety.
Kalu knows the challenge he and his teammates face, but he insists the squad have enough quality to beat the drop.

“I want to achieve big things with this great club, I know there is a lot to give, and I want to give my best.
“I’ve already seen the fixtures until the end of the season, with the quality of the players the team has I think we can do good things in the second half of the season,” Kalu added.
Kalu will have to wait until next week before making his Watford debut due to the international break this weekend.
