Prince Kassim Afegbua on Thursday said if the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike is being accused of bringing Secondus on the people, and in the process, he is now fighting to remove him, he should be allowed to do so.
Kassim who Prince Uche Second has sued to court for Labelle said if Governor Wike was accused of bringing the mess, he should be allowed to take away the mess which he adding that it is the most honorable thing to do at this moment.
The former Edo State Commissioner for Information was reacting to the alleged rumor that he has been sponsored by the Rivers State Governor to wage a media war against Secondus.
While reacting angrily, Kassim said it is an insult to his personality, a big insult, my name is Prince Kassim Afegbua from a big royal home in Okpella, so proud to be from there and I went to school,
“I have been a journalist, I have been a reporter in this country, I have been a commissioner of information for Edo state, I have been special Adviser, I have been part of the decision making in the state level, I have been a national acting chairman of a political party in this country, I have been director-general of a national headquarters of a national political party, I have been director of publicity, why will you think I will be singing somebody’s hosanna music, that’s ridiculous.
“If governor Wike saw sense in what I was saying and his desire to catch on that, is good for the party, and not only Wike some other governors, like I said if Governor Wike is being accused of bringing Secondus on the people and in the process he is now fighting to remove him, allow the man to remove him. If he was accused of bringing the mess, allow him to take away the mess, that is the most honorable thing to do but I hate to hear people think that, except you don’t know who I am.
‘I am sure you know that I am in court with Socondus over libel, we will resume that one in court once the court gives a go-ahead but talking about the party, my desire from day one has always been that PDP has to wake up and play its role as viral opposition political party so that we can afford Nigeria’s alternate due point on issues that have to with governance, insecurity and the rest.
“For so long PDP has been doing what we call stereotypical kind of publicity, is just like every day you are having a template, every day you turn out and sign signatures, No we have to move beyond that, the party has to engage all the 36 states publicity secretaries, all the zonal publicity secretary, into a robust form of engagements, with different segments of the Nigerian population, the party as a leadership, also needed to continuously sustain mass mobilization by way of protestation on the street.
“We need to match on the street, we cannot have bandits, terrorists, attacking NDA and just sitting down with just a statement, we ought to match on the street that Buhari cannot protect us if our NDA was attacked, 2 officers were killed and a major was kidnapped, then you and I have no future in terms of protection of lives and properties as enshrined in the Nigeria Constitution which is the primary responsibility of government, so for me, the party has woken up. The governors have seen sense in the direction of what I started and what I complained about and now they are clashing on that.
“Seconds as an individual is not bigger than the party, Socondus also must submit himself to the vagaries, rules, and regulation of the party because he is spread headed in the resignation of Bamaga Turku in 2016, now give birth to his own, now coming to him but why he is now been vehement, saying he must finish by December is what confirmed my sensibilities, whether you like it or not, next year the candidate of every political party must be known, they said 6 months before the election, once the electoral act bill has been signed that means PDP must put behind itself every crisis this year because we are entering a new year2022, where we will be looking at our election just in front of us. We must come in all-purpose, we must be resolute in our conclusion and also be decisive in our decisions.

“That we will be able to catch in a number of loopholes in the APC and see how we can explore that to key in nation prominence different from what we have now, there are opportunities for PDP to return to power, if only certain persons who are greedy, people who are self-serving can out their own personal interest at the back door and allow us to engage on a national issue. The country is very polarized, insecurities everywhere, killings, bloodletting by parting who promised us eldorado, or by the president that promised heaven and earth, he said he was going to visit our health center and turn it around, the number one citizen is the number one tourist in the country.
Asked that Secondus said he is not leaving office till December, Kassim said the party has moved beyond Secundus, he cannot tie us down, he cannot hold us down, he cannot own the party more than any other person, you know those who are stakeholders under the party have come to meet under the governor’s forum and there is already a national acting chairman, so even when they were cross carpeting from a different team, the others were late in coming on the side of Socondus, because they were already an order that disowns him which gave birth to the national acting chairman, so if he wants to claim another order, it should be against national acting chairman but off course like a drowning man who is trying to flock at every clock sound, it is expected that he will be making all of these.
On the suspension by his ward in Rivers state, He advised the embattled PDP National chairman to be honorable and resign his position.
“Men who have honor, men who have character, men who have decorum, who have decency don’t wait until they split malt at your dress before they throw into the towel, we understand that in Nigeria, people hardly resign but if you have the party at heart, the party that is giving you platform, to gain national recognition, otherwise who is Secondus, before now, where is he coming from, where was his background, what school did he attend, beyond this politics, what are his achievements, so when he gets to that level, he should be humble enough to say No, for this party that has given me this recognition for 3 and half years that is almost 4years, is enough, just 4month, is taking away from your mandates. You should thank God, there is nobody since PDP was formed that has spent 4years in the position as National Chairman.’
